Class Descriptions
ZIVUG: Transition to Marriage
Join Rabbi Getzel for a 6-class series directed toward couples on love, ‘beshert,’ and the conscious transition to marriage. Through Jewish wisdom, guided exercises, and frank conversations, we will explore the growth and maintenance of vibrant relationships. Open to couples (all gender and multifaith expressions of partnership strongly welcome) in the year preceding or following a wedding.
Each of the six classes will be on a separate topic:

Love & Marriage: Interactive Sessions for Interfaith Couples
Six interactive online sessions to help engaged and newlywed interfaith couples build a foundation for a happy life together & create a vision for their future. This is open to all interfaith couples (with one Jewish partner) who are seriously dating, engaged or married.
We’ll explore topics like: love, money, conflict, sex, religion, and partner roles through Jewish text, guided exercises and frank discussion.

ZIVUG: Activist Couples Transitioning to Marriage
A Social Action Course for Young Adults
Join Rabbi Getzel for a 7-class series for couples interested in a conscious and healthy transition to marriage. Through Jewish wisdom, text study, guided exercises, and frank conversations, we will explore the growth and maintenance of vibrant relationships. This is a cohort for folks specifically interested in exploring power dynamics, feminism, and how our decisions as a couple interact impact the world. Open to couples (all gender and multifaith expressions of partnership strongly welcome) in the year preceding or following a wedding.

ZIVUG for Launching Second Marriages
Marrying a second time can be a difficult process emotionally and logistically. In addition to the core ZIVUG curriculum, we will also address the questions of moving forward with current relationship while honoring the past one; addressing the general societal idea of divorce as a failure and what this means for going into a new relationship and second wedding planning.

Clergy Training
Rabbi Getzel is certified to train facilitators in Prepare-Enrich premarital counseling and plans to create a training for Jewish clergy in Prepare-Enrich and Zivug couples methods in the near future.
